Childcare Training
Organization: Pacific Immigrant Resources Society

This program is for immigrant and refugee women who have a passion for working with young children. In partnership with Vancouver Community College, we offer training for an Early Childhood Educator Assistant.

Training includes a two and a half week practicum with a childcare center.

Skills Focus: Occupational skills: skills to work as a childcare service worker (e.g. health, safety, nutrition, music and movement, and trauma-informed childcare.)

Pacific Immigrant Resources Society (PIRS) is a non-profit organization serving immigrant and refugee women and children with immigration and integration into Canada. Its programs follow a trauma-informed approach and offer safe spaces for immigrant and refugee women to learn, build confidence and develop meaningful friendships. It provides childcare, so the women attending its programs have peace of mind, and the freedom to be fully engaged in their growth.
